Wanda Maximoff, known as Scarlet Witch, is a powerful Avenger and key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Born in Sokovia with her twin brother Pietro, their lives were tragically impacted by a Stark Industries missile that destroyed their home and killed their parents.
Driven by vengeance, Wanda and Pietro volunteered for HYDRA experiments using the Mind Stone. The experiments granted Wanda extraordinary powers, including telekinesis, energy manipulation, and the ability to delve into and manipulate minds. Pietro gained superhuman speed, becoming Quicksilver.
Initially allied with Ultron against the Avengers, Wanda eventually defected, recognizing Ultron's destructive intentions. She joined the Avengers, fighting alongside them to protect Earth. The death of her brother Pietro during the Battle of Sokovia deeply affected her.
Scarlet Witch's powers continued to evolve, becoming increasingly difficult to control. After the Blip, caused by Thanos, the loss of Vision triggered a mental breakdown in Wanda. This led to the creation of the Westview anomaly, a fabricated reality where she lived a domestic life with a resurrected Vision and their two children.
